Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division

Here is a little history of our nearby Naval Surface Warfare Center. I believe you can see their building from the Crest to Coast trail behind Dearborn St.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/facility/corona.htm

"The site of the NSWC Corona Division was once a playground for the rich and famous. A 700-acre luxury resort once operated here in Norco, built by Rex Clark in 1928. Frequented by silent-screen stars, the complex sported a gambling casino, golf course, 55 acre lake, a hot sulfur spring spa, an airport, and a magnificent, 5-story hotel. Sitting atop a knoll, the hotel had a commanding view of Lake Norconian and the surrounding countryside. With the stock market crash of 1929, the resort plunged into a 12-year decline culminating in Clark agreeing to sell the complex to the Navy for 1.6 million dollars December 6th, 1941, one day before the attack on Pearl Harbor."

Pre-wired Fiber Lines and AT&T

AT&T will be installing their Internet and telephone service in my house tomorrow. I hope their installation is faster or less troubling than their phone support. Otherwise there might be 20 technicians coming and leaving my house just to install the Internet and phone. It was probably due to their new U-Verse service, that I had to talk to over 20 people to switch my phone service over from Charter. Even the salesperson gave up and just disappeared after three trips to my house to try to setup the phone service. It wasn't a good experience. Several times, I wanted to give up the switch over to AT&T and just stay with Charter. I hope tomorrow they can finally set me up and really save me $20 a month.

BEWARE OF THE AT&T SERVICE. BE READY TO CALL AT&T 10 TIMES OR MORE....

Santa Ana River Crest to Coast Trail

I remember Susan from the sales office had shown me an article about the Santa Ana River trail. The project will build a trail or link all trails from Orange County coast line passing Riverside to San Bernardino mountain. After some googling, I found the link below that provided detailed information regarding progress and future direction of the project.

Cheryl from the sales office also sent me some information. I think the map shows the portion of the trail our HOA maintains.

Quail Run Corona Blog Started!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Last night, I thought about creating a blog for the Quail run and nearby neighborhood to share information and news about the community. Since we are all new neighbors in the area, this could be where everyone can share information about their newly purchased house, the nearby park, school, shop, etc.... I hope this blog will become useful for everyone.
